About Me

I’m Jo and I’m a writer and a gamer (you can see my gaming blog here). I write young adult fantasy stories (because I refuse to grow up and live in the real world), microfiction and other general nonsense. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember and hope to continue to write for a long time. I wrote my first book when I was thirteen. It was about vampires. Lots of blood, but not much story.

A few years ago, I moved out of the real world and into Lucacia, a world of my own invention. More recently I’ve discovered many worlds parallel to Lucacia, including Daema, where my current book is set and Naktyr, the home of The Rage.

As well as being a writer, I’m a student, studying for an MSc in Computer Games Technology after passing my BA Creative and Media Writing. This has helped me confirm my identity as a young adult writer, because it has proved that I’m not quite ready to grow all the way up yet. Maybe I never will be…

What’s this blog for?

It’s mostly just for me to ramble about writing. I try to do two regular posts each week – the Wednesday Worksheet and the Friday Fiction. I post other things when it occurs to me to do so, but you can find me online in other places too.
